- Check the loan cost with the pawn loan calculator.
Questions
How do I calculate the value of my gold?
Weight in grams divided by 31.1035 gives troy ounces. Multiply by the purity (14K is 14/24, or 58.3%) and by the spot price per troy ounce. That is the metal value; pawn offers are lower.
How much will a pawn shop lend on gold?
Shops lend a part of the metal value, because they must cover refining or resale and the risk that the loan is not repaid. There is no legal or standard percentage, so compare offers from two or three shops.
What does 585 or 750 stamped on gold mean?
It is the purity in thousandths: 585 is 14K (58.5%), 750 is 18K (75%), 417 is 10K and 916 is 22K.
Why does the calculator ask for the spot price?
Gold prices move every minute. We show a dated reference price, and you can type the current spot price from any market quote for an exact figure.
